Above Cortina, above the clouds

In the heart of the Tofane Mountains, at the foot of Punta Anna with stunning views of Cortina, the large terrace of our mountain hut overlooks some of the most beautiful and iconic peaks of the Dolomites.
The Pomedes hut, built in 1955 by the mountain guide and ski teacher Luigi Ghedina ‘Bibi’ and his wife Lucilla Gilmozzi, is today run by their youngest children, Ruggero and Renata, with the same passion and love as their parents before them.

Each room of the Pomedes hut, an ideal starting point for skiing in winter and via ferrata excursions in summer, is furnished in traditional alpine style.
The rooms come with bathroom and Wi-Fi, and some have a balcony and TV. There is also a 12-bed dormitory, equipped with mattresses and duvets.

Activities for all seasons

In winter, the hut is the starting point for some of the most legendary ski runs in the Tofane, such as the slope where the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup takes place. In summer, it is an excellent base for five different via ferrata itineraries of varying degrees of difficulty, some of which are suitable also for families with children.

In the mountains with taste

Our kitchen offers simple dishes true to the Ampezzo tradition, revisited with a modern flair, such as the ‘Bis di Pomedes’ with red-beet gnocchi and spinach dumplings, or the ‘Punta Anna’ plate with half-moon shaped pasta filled with red-beet and pasta parcels with a stinging-nettle and ricotta filling.
We offer home-made desserts and cakes according to Grandma Lucilla’s old recipes, like our delicious apple tart.
